Three Peas In A Pod

The wild and crazy ride of raising our triplets: Rowan, Eli, and Finn!

Ah, the difference a week makes! May 8, 2008

One week down at LSU; hopefully lots more to go.  This past week has been a mixed bag; I’ve had a few episodes of contractions that have required shots and a UTI that I can’t seem to shake.  But otherwise things have gone pretty well and in fact today, we got great news.  On my repeat cervical length exam, things looked great!  My length has more than doubled which is more than we ever could have hoped for.  Definitely an answer to all of our prayers and positive thoughts.  This will hopefully take me out of the danger zone for an immediate delivery and buy the boys some precious time in my belly.  Originally I was supposed to start steroid therapy for the tots lung development today, but it looks like we may push that back due to the good results.  As always, the team of doctors and nurses up here are taking great care of me and I feel like we are all in very capable hands.

But obviously being up here has its down side; I really miss the comfort of my home and my puppy dogs.  And at times the food leaves much to be desired.  But I did request and receive a fancy air bed and it has really helped me out; it has really improved my comfort level with laying down all day and sleeping.  And I have had a ton of visitors and phone calls that have really perked up my days and my spirits; it all helps me continue to feel connected to the outside world.  And for those that have inquired about my mental health up here 🙂 let’s just say that the first breakdown is safely out of the way!  But it’s there that I must give credit to Ross who has been a rockstar throughout this last week.  He’s brought me food, made me laugh, and tried to pick me up when I have cried.  Worrying about the premature birth of the boys has obviously been stressful on both of us but we are making it through one day at a time.

For all the thoughts, wishes, prayers, etc. we can’t say thank you enough; obviously we are very hopeful that this pregnancy will contine to progress with minimal problems and complications.  Below are a few belly pics from last Thursday before I went in the hospital; I have continued to grow and put on weight in the hospital and should have some new pics up after the weekend.  Hugs and kisses to everyone!

Looking good!! This is almost unbelievable that the cord would lengthen that much. It means so much. Glad you got your new bed. I am sure that is a big help. The kids are not going to believe how you have changed. I know you will have a super time with them. Your Mom told me Carla and Mckenzie came to see you today. That was good. Your Dad and Cheryl too. Love you and the little guys. Mammaw and Pappaw
