Well last night the boys turned two weeks old; the time has flown by in a blur. They are all doing well. Rowan and Finn are still doing incredible; their main goal at the moment is to try and gain some weight. They have started fortifying their feeds with extra calories to try and speed this up. The next big step for them is working towards an open air crib. In order to do this they have to gain some weight and be able to maintain their temperature. They will also be able to start wearing clothes once we get closer to an open air crib. But on the note, after Rowan’s bath last night Brittany, our nurse, found the tiniest pair of socks to put on him to help warm him up. Their’s nothing like seeing a pair of tube socks on a tiny little baby to make you laugh out loud.
And Elliott is doing a great job fighting his infection; we have been fortunate so far in that nothing has shown up in his lumbar puncture. So for now it looks like we have about 10 days of antibiotics left; he is back off the CPAP and breathing on his own again. They also plan to try and get him eating again today. So all good news for the boys; hopefully we will continue to progress in this direction. I would also appreciate a few special prayers for Eli’s repeat cranial ultrasound today; hopefully it will show us that his little bleed has either been downgraded or resolved completely.
